Helmed by Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy (who will also direct Reynolds in forthcoming Marvel movie Deadpool 3) Free Guy follows Reynolds' Guy, a bank teller who discovers that he is a non-player character in a massive multiplayer online game (not dissimilar to Grand Theft Auto) and decides he doesn't want to play along anymore.

Ryan Reynolds leads this big-budget action-comedy, which is fun-filled, explosive, and full of big laughs. Free Guyįree Guy is probably on the upper end of what's appropriate for family viewing. It is pretty long, especially for smaller children (it comes in at 144 minutes), but its credentials behind and in front of the camera make it worth a watch. Captain James Hook arrives in the real world and kidnaps Peter's children, leading Peter to go back to Neverland and confront his old enemy. Scored by the legendary John Williams, the film tells the tale of what happens when Peter Pan grows up into an impatient, work-obsessed dad. It succeeded at the box office, and is still thought of lovingly by many. In fact, Spielberg himself was reportedly unhappy with the movie.
Despite that, it didn't have the rave reviews everyone was expecting. There's also a surprising number of cameos, with Bob Hoskins, Maggie Smith, George Lucas, and even Phil Collins (of Genesis fame) among the guest stars. Steven Spielberg's Hook has a shining cast of superstars, including Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, and Julia Roberts. The film has also been adapted into a series of four books, a stage play, and has an anime short sequel ( Mei and the Kittenbus). The Japanese-language version was the winner of multiple awards. The pair are taken to live in an old country house by their father (Tim Daly), and they spend their time befriending the playful spirits that live there. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki ( Spirited Away), it follows schoolgirl Satsuki (Dakota Fanning in the English language dub) and her younger sister Mei (Elle Fanning), whose mother is taken into hospital with an illness.
